When a furlough is initiated the learner can remain in learning and we are still able to deliver the apprenticeship remotely, provided the following conditions can be met:
- The Apprentices is still employed and therefore has a contract
- An Apprenticeship agreement is in place
- The Apprentices is paid above minimum wage
If an Furlough is taken unpaid we may have to suspend learning during this time. Get in touch with your Account Manager or call us on 0808 100 1155 should you have any questions about this.
Through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, all UK employers will be able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that would otherwise have been laid off during this crisis, this includes apprentices. HMRC will reimburse 80% of furloughed workers wage costs, up to a cap of £2,500 per month.
