Infoserve is one of the leading players in the UK online local search market and has pioneered the delivery of online marketing solutions for SMEs in the UK through an extensive portfolio of websites and a far-reaching Media Partner Network. The Darlington based firm is now working with Intec Business Colleges to support their staff development and deliver a range of NVQs and Apprenticeships.

An initial trial took place with staff taking Customer Service and Business Administration Level 2 NVQs/Apprenticeships. Following the positive feedback and success of this trial a significant number of staff have now signed up to the NVQ programme and those staff who took part in the trial have now moved on to take higher level NVQs.

“We have been delighted with the progress of staff and the quality of training and coaching that the Intec assessors have provided,” explained Angela McPhee, Customer Services Manager at Infoserve. “I have seen an increase of attention to detail being made on business duties and by the staff who have undertaken the NVQs/Apprenticeships. They have really taken on board the quality of learning and are now using these skills against their daily duties. The training has certainly developed their skills and I now have people who I can call upon to provide holiday cover for more senior positions.”

Everyone has got behind the NVQs and Apprenticeships and in particular the Sales Team Managers and the Training Department have all come on board with this form of work based learning. “Development of all of our staff is key to our business and the team from Intec have been flexible in accommodating our business plans; they have been really great to work with. Now we will be looking at how we can roll this out to our other teams, in particular to our sales staff based in Leeds,” concluded Angela.
