HEROtsc, one of the leading providers of outsourced call centre services and innovative business solutions in the UK, is giving staff at its Kilmarnock and Falkirk sites the opportunity to gain formal qualifications whilst at work. With support from Intec Business Colleges, HEROtsc has gained access to funding for their staff and the company is now delivering SVQ training with Intec.

HEROtsc is keen to reward and develop their young employees with a recognised qualification. Staff are currently undertaking Contact Centre Level 2 SVQs and Customer Service Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship SVQs and then will move on to Customer Service Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship SVQ. The qualifications cover a broad range of skills assessed through observation, discussion and testimonies.

“We were looking for an organisation to deliver Contact Centre Training to our staff and Intec demonstrated that they have substantial experience of delivering training in businesses like ours. It was important for me to find a training provider who will support and encourage our young people to develop and gain nationally recognised qualifications,” explained Mike Eadie, HEROtsc Head of Learning and Development.

As a big advocate of SVQ development, Mike continues, “The SVQs allow our staff to improve and develop their skills which in turn improves their prospects but the training programme also benefits our business by helping us to both attract and retain staff. It also shows that we value our staff and that we are keen to support them in their development.”

The feedback has been very positive so far and for some it has been a great opportunity for them to gain a formal qualification and given them a practical way to develop their own career paths.
