Winner - Megan Holdship, Utility Rentals
Megan Holdship of Utility Rentals is a very worthy
winner of a 2020 Intec Rising Star Award.
After
starting her A-levels Megan decided that school wasn’t for her and was holding
down two part time jobs before she applied to a Sales Advisor role with Utility
Rentals. The Apprenticeship role meant she could earn money whilst gaining a
Level 2 Sales qualification.
Having passed the Level
2 qualification with ease she completed her Level 3 Sales programme in December
and is now taking on the new challenge of her third Apprenticeship - Team Leader Supervisor Level 3.
Megan credits the development of multiple skills;
such as confidence, communication and time management to her apprenticeship.
She states that she is now able to speak to customers effectively, new or old,
and provide them with great customer service.
Megan has been promoted from her roles as a Sales
Advisor to an Account Manager, in charge of one of their largest Accounts. ‘I
have grown relationships with schools and businesses, it feels like such a big
achievement to be able to speak to a new customer and them be over the moon
with the service I have provided.’
Megan’s Assessor, Paul Mason, chose to nominate
her after observing the quality of her work and seeing her confidence grow: ‘Megan
frequently tops the Sales charts and the quality of her work and professional
discussion are exemplary – I have no doubts she’s got a very bright future ahead
of her!’.
Her Manager Steve agrees; ‘Megan is hard working
with an exceptional work ethic, she has worked through her qualifications to a
high standard and it impresses me that once one is completed, she is keen to
continue learning.
At times during her initial qualification, it was easy to
forget she was an Apprentice’.
Having
been at Utility Rentals over two years now Megan is an example of someone who’s
been able to develop, progress and achieve because of her apprenticeship: ‘I’ve
got to do things that I never would have been able to if I went to university. I
have been able to learn whilst also gaining experience of the real world. Intec

to coming to work and starting my day’.
