Lesley Ramage
Business Development Manager / Lead IQA Scotland  

Lesley joined the company in October 2004 and began training as an Assessor. “I gained my A1/A2 award in May 2005, achieving my V1 in April 2006, in 2008 I became a Contract Co-ordinator for the North East. This involved me spending a few days a week away from home meeting clients and working with the delivery team to help boost the business.”

Over the years Lesley has taken on more responsibility; “whilst I continue to look after the delivery team, I have recently become the Business Development Manager for Scotland. This is a new challenge for me and one I am excited to be a part of. The delivery team and I are all working hard together to achieve new business and boost the numbers of learners Intec have in Scotland.”

Lesley and her husband Jim live just outside Edinburgh and have two grown-up daughters, “I am also Granny to 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson and I love it, they are all full of fun and family time at our house is, to say the least, hectic when they are all here.”

Jean McGill
Assessor/Tutor, IQA Intec Scotland

Jean joined Intec in 2003 as a Qualified Tutor/Assessor and has continued assessing across Central Scotland, East Scotland and the Borders. Having previously worked with British Telecom for eighteen years, she gained her Assessor award in this role and is experienced in delivering various SVQ Qualifications. She has also gained SVQ qualifications herself and continues to take ownership of her personal development within the company.

“In 2015 one of Jean’s learners won the SDS Level 2 Apprentice of the year award – Auryn Chorley- Auryn completed SVQ Retail L2 MA and then progressed to complete SVQ Business & Administration L3 MA.

Jean lives with her husband in Glasgow and has four grown up children, now away from home however Sunday dinner is a busy time cooking for all. She is looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild later this year.

Outside work Jean likes to unwind by reading, walking the dog and travelling around Scotland. She also enjoys getting away from it all in the summer break and for the last seven years this has been to Sardinia and she has already booked for this year.

Barbara Dempsey

Barbara joined Intec Business Colleges in 2013 from Retail Management background, she is an experienced Assessor / Verifier. She is based at home in Fife, but on the road covers most of the east coast of Scotland, from the likes of Edinburgh to Aberdeen. “I meet a variety of people from many different industries. I enjoy that part of my job very much as it means no to days, weeks, months are the same.”

“I have a passion for Training, learning and development and enjoy assisting others to achieve their qualification and progress with their career.”

When not at Intec, Barbara’s personal life revolves around her family and friends. “I married my childhood sweetheart in 1983 and have 2 grown up boys & their partners and of course my grandchildren, Reace aged 3, Caoihme aged 7 months and one on the way due April 2017. Weekends are tiring for me, I’m grateful to come to work for a rest.”

Andrew Mitchell


Andrew is an assessor/verifier for the Scottish Team. He joined Intec in 2005 and delivers a large variety of qualifications across many different industries.

He has a varied background in retail financial services and hospitality and uses his experience to forge strong working relationships with both clients and candidates.

In years gone by he enjoyed the buzz of being a disc jockey in both nightclubs and as a mobile DJ. He lives with his partner of 13 years, Lesley , and together they now enjoy chilling as often as they can at their property in southern Spain.
