A well known Recruitment Service based in Aberdeen, is leading the way in staff training and development through the introduction of Modern Apprenticeships to their staff.

McGregor Consultants have been established over 25 years, serving a customer base within the global oil and gas industries with their extensive and impressive knowledge of the sector for their clients recruitment needs.

McGregor Consultants prides itself on maintaining long term relationships and going that extra mile for its clients and has replicated this with its own staff members. Angie McGregor, Company Founder, comments “Customer Care is not a slogan for us, it’s the principle that completely underpins our business. As a small business we invest in our people and are keen to give them the opportunity to benefit from achieving a Modern Apprenticeship qualification”.

Intec Business Colleges, a leading national training provider with a dedicated team based in Scotland have been working alongside McGregor Consultants providing Management and Administration qualifications to its staff. “The Modern Apprenticeship qualifications have given staff the confidence to develop their roles and added value to their standing in the company, it has encouraged them to “think outside the box” and look further into their job roles to identify areas of improvement and recognise tasks they do well”, comments Angela.

As part of their continued growth it is important to them to participate in the Modern Apprenticeship programme, it shows commitment to their staff and gives them confidence to work with others, internally and externally. This has certainly been acknowledged by McGregor Consultants winning the Employer of The Year through the Grampian Business Excellence Awards.

It has certainly been a winning year for the company, working alongside Intec Business Colleges on the Modern Apprenticeship programme has been a very positive one. “Intec’s Assessors provide on site assessment within the business and all those on the programme have enjoyed the process. Assessors were able to carry out assessment visits without affecting work patterns or our business routines. McGregors is a great place to work and we know our team are happy and focussed in their roles, the Modern Apprenticeship programme has highlighted this even more and we would hope to move forward with further successes in the coming year”, concludes Angela.

As McGregor Consultants goes from strength to strength the company are proud to be finalists in Scotland’s prestigious Modern Apprenticeship Awards. Winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on 13th November 2013 at the Glasgow Science Centre.

The Awards, now in their 12th year recognise the achievements and commitment of individuals and their employers involved in the Modern Apprenticeship programme in Scotland. We all wish the team at McGregor Consultants all the very best in the awards.
