You will get a dedicated account manager who will oversee the full programme delivery. Within the programme, your learner will receive 1 to 1 visits from their Tutor on a monthly basis and have access to our online platform to allow for integrated learning. To provide you with the highest quality training all of our Assessors are employed by Intec and are CET certified. Learners will be registered on Learning Assistant and have access to workbooks and PowerPoints for each module to support their learning journey. Functional Skills in maths and English are delivered as part of the Apprenticeship for those who have not already achieved.

Intec can support training for your existing workforce as well as the recruitment of young Apprentices through funding contracts we hold with the Education Skills Funding Agency. If you are a levy paying employer then we will help you plan your spend using our bespoke levy planning tool.

Programmes of learning for your staff can take between 9 and 24 months depending on the level and programme type for Apprenticeship Standards - there is also an additional period allowed for End Point Assessment (EPA).

In recent years there has been a move from Apprenticeship Frameworks to Apprenticeship Standards. This should be complete for all vocational areas by the end of 2020. Apprenticeship Standards are designed by employers and offer more flexibility than Frameworks and include a greater depth of training and development opportunities.

As part of the Apprenticeship programme there is a requirement for the Apprentice to spend 20% of their time undertaking off the job training. This may include time with their Tutor/Assessor, remote learning, and completing assignment work. It may also include in-work activities that contribute to their learning experience; such as attendance at meetings, time spent with customers or suppliers, time spent with colleagues.

The Off-the-job training must be relevant to their apprenticeship programme and can include:

• Teaching of theory
• Simulated exercises and role-play
• Attendance at competitions
• Manufacturer training
• Learning support provided by the employer or the provider
• Online learning
• Shadowing or being mentored
• Being practical
• Visiting the employer's other departments
• Time spent writing assessments/assignments
• Industry visits or visiting other companies

Unlike other providers, all of our Tutors are employed by Intec directly. They have real life experience in the subjects in which they train and are best placed to support your staff as develop, progress and achieve. All of our delivery staff are qualified in Teaching and Learning with CET qualifications and will use the best techniques to help your people learn and develop skills.

When a furlough is initiated the learner can remain in learning and we are still able to deliver the apprenticeship remotely, provided the following conditions can be met:

1. The Apprentices is still employed and therefore has a contract
2. An Apprenticeship agreement is in place
3. The Apprentices is paid above minimum wage

Through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, all UK employers will be able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that would otherwise have been laid off during this crisis, this includes apprentices. HMRC will reimburse 80% of furloughed workers wage costs, up to a cap of £2,500 per month.

If this move temporary, we can continue to deliver the apprenticeship through our remote learning platforms; providing workbooks and projects so that when the learner returns to their position they are able to excel within their job role.

If that move becomes permanent, you should liaise with Intec to see which alternative apprenticeship your apprentice can transfer to.

Employers who do not pay the apprenticeship levy are able to reserve apprenticeship funding through the apprenticeship service in line with the published guidance.

In the case that your apprentice can’t start, reservations will expire if they are not turned into a commitment within 3 months of the apprenticeship start date, detailed in the reservation. Where a commitment is needed, and a previous reservation has expired, a new reservation must first be made.

Before initiating a break in learning speak to your Account Manager or call 0808 100 1155, we can offer to deliver the programme completely remotely and set work for the learner to complete at home. Should a break in learning be absolutely necessary please use the ‘Pause’ function in the service. Employers must only use the ‘Stop’ function when they are certain that training will not resume at any point. Using ‘Pause’ will stop payments temporarily and allow the employer and apprentice to resume the apprenticeship at a later date.
