|The 2014 budget saw the announcement of two measures which will help employers provide job opportunities to young people.
Employers with fewer than 1000 employees who wish to take on an Apprentice can access a Government grant of £1500 per new recruit. This scheme, which was due to end in December 2014, will now be extended to 2015/16. Employers can apply for up to 10 grants amounting to £15,000 to help with their employment costs.
The second measure which will apply from April 2015 and will mean that employers will no longer pay national insurance contributions for employees under the age of 21 years old.
