Intec Presents at House of Commons Apprenticeship Launch

This summer we were thrilled to be involved with an event to launch two new management and leadership trailblazer apprenticeships held at the House of Commons.

As one of the Chartered Management Institute’s (CMI) biggest apprenticeship partners, and experts in the field of management, Intec was part of the working group led by the CMI in the development of the New Leadership and Manager Apprenticeship.

The government-backed professional qualifications are set to develop the next generation of managers and address a potential blind-spot in UK business education, with 71% of UK organisations admitting they fail to effectively train first time managers.

Poor leadership and management has been identified as being one of the major causes of the UK’s productivity shortfall, and goes some way to explaining why the UK’s output per worker is 18% lower than the G7 average. The new apprenticeships provide multiple entry points to suit future managers at different stages in their career.

We know that investment in the next generation of managers is more than repaid by the productivity gains they deliver so at Intec, we’ve been championing these skills for a long time.

We currently have nearly 600 Team Leading and Management Apprentices learning with us, some of whom were invited to the Houses of Parliament.  We were extremely proud that, out of five Apprentices who addressed around 200 employers and guests at the event, four were Intec learners.

Management is one of our specialisms, overseen by a subject expert who ensures the standard of our training and tutoring in this area is of a very high standard. We offer Intermediate and Advanced Level Apprenticeships in Leadership & Management plus the Higher Level, which is the equivalent of a foundation degree.Tutoring can be delivered in a flexible way through one-to-one support and can be conducted via workshop activity as well as remote on-line learning.

Employers now have a greater range of options for productivity-boosting investment in tomorrow’s leaders and can benefit from both the current and future apprenticeship funding schemes. So, if you place a high value on staff development as a means of growth Intec, with its long-established professional training reputation, should be your first port of call.
